Nature, specifally my garden here on 41st Avenue, has been the subject of my work for many years. I am a printmaker and Studio 41 is my own studio during the week. I use my etching press as a tool to make unique images, monotypes, that I develop using various materials such as watercolor, pastel or colored pencil. On the press leaves and other materials from my garden become “printing plates” that are inked and printed in multiple ways. This process sometimes results in embossing in the paper that I later discover as a magical drawing.
