Amy Geller
Amy Geller was born in New York and lives and has her studio in Long Island City. She attended Cornell University, working towards her BFA. After three years she transferred to Hunter College where she earned a BA with a major in fine art. After graduation Amy studied graphic design and illustration and has freelanced as a designer/illustrator since 1978. She has been in numerous art exhibitions including the juried annual New York Studio School Alumni Exhibition, The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) bi-yearly shows in Red Hook, Brooklyn, The Local Project in LIC and exhibitions mounted by LIC Artists and LIC Arts Open. She served on the LIC Artists Board of Directors from 2006-2009. Amy received an MA in illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2010. She works in various media – acrylic, collage, watercolor, gouache, pastel, pencil, ink, and clay. Her most recent work is abstract with figurative and nature-inspired elements.
